Our Mission                                            previous page

We are Paws-2-Help, with an ultimate goal of no unwanted, homeless or abused companion animals. Our emphasis to achieve this end is primarily, but not confined to, spay/neuter and public information and education.  Secondarily, we endeavor to make basic veterinary care available to ALL pets in need, regardless of their owner's ability to pay. Lastly, but not with less importance, we will change the concept and accepted attitude about housing animals in public and private shelters from chain link and concrete kennels for some, and steel cages for others, to a comfortable home style environment for all. Each hour of every day we, as the owner, staff, volunteers, and members of Paws-2 Help, strive to push toward this destination.

Our Philosophy

Paws-2-Help is a genuine 100% NO KILL shelter.  Meaning, we do not put animals to sleep unless they are chronically sick or are dangerous. Over the years this has amounted to approximately 1% of intakes.  Space and resources currently limit our intakes.  Having said that, it is not possible to save every animal, rather, the way to save lives is to drastically reduce the numbers being born.

It is disturbing to know just how many animals that we have to turn away each day.  We would love to be in a position to at least offer the owners of so many puppies and kittens, FREE spay and neuter before they give them away.  This would at least halt the line of reproduction.

There is so much more that should and can be done to help the animals in our state. The euthanasia rates must be reduced drastically; this can only be achieved with spay/neuter.  Free spay/neuter is the answer, free and available to all. Unfortunately there is no such thing as free, it requires funding.
